Q. Why should I have a home inspection?
A. A home purchase is one of the biggest investments you will ever make. A home inspection provides you with the information you need to feel more confident in your decision. Nspect will provide you with a detailed, objective report of the home's condition so you can be aware of what you are about to invest in. This includes new construction.
 
Q. How long does the inspection take?
A. A typical inspection of a property less than 1,500 square feet lasts approximately two hours.
 
Q. Do I need to be present at the time of the inspection?
A. Yes, it is to the buyer or sellers benefit to be present at the time of the inspection.  The point of a home inspection is not just to inspect the property, but also to educate our clients of the condition, operation and functions of the home.  For this reason it is better if you are present at the time of the inspection.
 
Q. How will the inspection help me determine the condition of the home?
A. During the course of the inspection, the inspector will explain the condition of the property.  After the inspection the inspector will provide you with a written Nspect report and verbally explain any discrepancies and concerns listed on that report, so you can make an educated decision about the property.
 
Q. What is included in The Nspect report?
A. The report includes narrative pages of all major areas of the home to include: plumbing, electrical, roofing, structural, heating, air-conditioning, insulation, ventilation, exterior and interior.  A summary report that will list any deficiencies, discrepancies and areas of concern.

Q. What are Nspect inspectors qualifications?
A. Nspect has over 20 years of of working, supervising and teaching experience in the construction and home inspection industries.  Technical training classes are also held periodically throughout the year to update all Nspect inspectors on new and existing building codes and requirements.  Nspect inspectors are trained to perform a professional inspection that meets the highest standards in the industry, the standards of practice established by the American Society of Home Inspectors ASHI.  We are approved instructors by KREC Kentucky Real Estate Commission and approved fee inspectors by HUD Housing Urban Development.
